Codemasters has released an Apple iPhone/iPod touch version of the racing game F1 2009. As the official game that was previously available on the PSP and the Nintendo Wii, the Apple version features all 17 circuits, 10 teams and 20 drivers of the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship.
The game is available through the App store for £3.99 and although it doesn’t offer a championship mode where you collect points per race, it does offer both a time trail mode and endurance mode.
In time trials, the goal is to whip around the race track as fast as possible to achieve the best time possible whereas endurance mode tests your skill and consistency over a greater distance (6, 9 or 12 laps). Drivers can also build upon their skillset by toggling racing aids such as breaking assistance and corner lights either off or on.
